Diet To Go! - Have you heard of it??

Now this is something that I might try. I met a new friend online, who originally contacted me about doing a blog design for her. She has lost over 130 lbs! And she has lots of tips and ideas that she would like to share with the blogging world. We will hopefully have her blog launched within the next couple of weeks.

Anyway, she emailed me today about how she just started Diet To Go. And she loves it! This is what she said:

“I think I told you I ordered from Diet To Go? Well I started it Tuesday and as of today I am down almost 5 lbs. The food is awesome and it’s just a total no brainer. I LOVE IT !!!”

So I decided to look into this. I absolutely have never heard of this program. Here’s a few FAQs from the Diet To Go website:

What is Diet-to-Go?

Diet-to-Go is a diet food service that provides freshly prepared, tasty, healthy, convenient and nutritionally balanced meal plans. Diet-to-Go has been serving its Customers for the past 15 years.

What do the meals consist of?

We have four weeks of different diet food plans that offer excellent variety. All of the meals are low in fat, low in sodium and low in cholesterol. Our healthy food is prepared by our chef, and adheres to the dietary guidelines of the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association and the American Dietetic Association.

How can Diet-to-Go work for me?

First, we need to know whether you are trying to lose weight, eat healthier, save time or achieve some other objective. Second, we need to know if there are any dietary restrictions such as allergies or taste preferences. Based on that and any other pertinent information, one of our meal counselors will recommend an appropriate and healthy food plan for you.

Will I lose weight by eating your healthy diet food plan?

Our low-fat diet food plan has helped thousands of busy new mothers, executives, home-bound individuals and many others shed unwanted pounds. On the average, our customers lose from 2 to 3 pounds per week while on our full meal plan.

What’s really cool about this program is, they have 3 locations where you can actually have your food home delivered. Each location has several distributors in their area. The locations are: Baltimore/D.C. area, Philadelphia, and San Francisco. You can also order your food online and have it shipped to you, which is what I will have to do, considering I’m a Mississippi gal. Not sure where my online friend lives, I’ll have to ask her. But this is definitely something I’m going to look into. If you are interested in trying Diet To Go, just click the banner below, and right now they are offering $20 off your first order, just use coupon code PJ2000 at checkout. The promotion ends June 30, 2008.

I’m Back!!!

Sheesh…my blogs have been down for over 3 days! And I apologize to those of you that are just dying to read about what’s been going in my life! Haha ;) Thank goodness they are back up and running now! Let’s just say it was a monster server issue and leave it at that.

Anyway, it’s nice to be back. Hopefully, I’ll have plenty to post about! :)  Here’s my weight loss update I posted over at my beauty blog.

Update: Mississippi House Bill On Obesity Dead

THANK GOD! Here’s an article in the USA Today talking about it. I knew this idiotic Bill wouldn’t pass, just appalled that someone would come up with this, and supposedly their reason for it….that Mississippi has the highest rate of obesity in the USA, and they are trying to shed light on it. I also heard that the casinos are losing money at the “All You Can Eat” Buffets. Then change your freakin’ policy!!

My name is Ruthie, I’m a Mississippian and I’m Obese

….and if this House Bill passes, I will no longer be allowed to eat in a restaurant! You’ve got to read this. This is absolutely asinine! I’m flabbergasted, astonished, hurt, sickened, angry. I know that it probably won’t pass, but still, I’m just completely and utterly disgusted that a fellow Mississippian would come up with something like this!

Update: Here is an article from the USA Today:

Bill would make it illegal to feed the obese

Not Doing So Good

When I started this blog, I did mention that I would be going through many ups and downs, well I’ve officially had my first down.

I’ve been sick for several days with an awful stomach virus, and then the last couple of days have finally felt like eating.  Well, I have found myself eating all the wrong things, because I guess I’m feeling sorry for myself because I’ve been sick and haven’t been able to eat.  Well, once getting over something like that, who wants to go back to eating responsibly?

I’m making a promise to myself to get back on track ASAP.  Most likely Monday, and I don’t know why Monday, but that just seems like a good starting point and I am making a promise to myself not to do too much damage until then.  Don’t worry, I’ll be a good girl…I promise. ;)
