5 Things That Inspire Me to Lose Weight

I have posted these previously, but I feel like I need a reminder as to why I need to lose weight and what inspires me to do it.  Here are 5 things that inspire me to lose weight.

  1. First and foremost, my kids. I’m no “spring chicken” (having my first born when I was 30), and being the weight I am, I find it very difficult and exhausting to keep up with them. I have dreams of being able to run around and play with them, without getting breathless and tired. I want to take them to Disney World in the very near future, and when I go, I want to be able to enjoy myself with them, and not constantly be worried about where I can find a bench to sit down.
  2. I’m tired of not “loving” myself. I’m very self conscious about my weight and how I look to myself and my husband (even though he tells me he loves me the way that I am…I know…I’m blessed). I’m ready to feel good about myself, and not become nauseated every time I look at myself in the mirror.
  3. And I’ve mentioned this before, but heart disease, stroke and diabetes runs rampant in my family, and I absolutely REFUSE succumb to it.
  4. I have really enjoyed Weight Watchers and plan to get back on it. When I’m on it, I’m able to eat a lot of the things that I used to, but just in moderation. Now don’t get me wrong, with WW I definitely eat a lot healthier that I did before, but I love how I’m able to indulge (not overindulge) in some of the things I like without going off my diet.
  5. And last, this blog! I am having such a blast sharing my progress with my new found readers! I refuse to start something and not finish it, and having this blog has definitely helped with that.

Check Out This Blog! - A Junk-Foodaholic’s Journey To A Healthy Lifestyle

I wanted to share with you guys, a blog I stumbled upon over the last couple of days. It’s by a really nice fellow southern gal named Laura from A Junk-Foodaholic’s Journey To A Healthy Lifestyle. Her blog is inspirational!

Here’s a great post, she and her 26 year old daughter have been working out to the Debbie Sieber’s Slim in 6 Video Series. Sounds like they are having a great time, and I think it is wonderful that they are enjoying getting fit together!

You guys should definitely go check out her blog, and I’ve invited her to join the Healthy You Challenge as well, so hopefully she will join us!

My Inspiration - My Kids

This is just a reminder to myself “why” I’m doing this, and “why” I need to do this. I created the following video at the beginning of the year in celebration of what my twins went through and how far they have come. They were born at 27 weeks weighing 1lb 11oz each.

Anyway, just thought I’d share it with you guys. I plan to do one of my older two, but they are in this one too. Also, here’s some recent professional pics that were taken of them.

Weekly Recap - 6 tenths of a pound down!!

Still going strong! I continue to drop each time I visit weight watchers, and I’m ecstatic!! And tonight’s meeting was so great, I am so glad that I switched to this one. The WW Leader does an excellent job. I don’t know, it just seems like a much more comfortable setting to me. The people are so open with each other, and tonight there was a woman, probably not much older than I am (maybe mid 40’s), that had 3 heart attacks prior to going on WW, and she told her story of how she decided to start it. Nothing else was working for her, she was also diabetic and was talking insulin several times a day. She said that before starting WW, she was unable to go walking because of her heart, she would just get too out of breath. Well, today she had been on WW for one week and had lost over 6 lbs, and now she requires less insulin during the day, and she’s able to walk a mile a day. It brought tears to my eyes. This woman was so proud of herself, and really seemed to have hope that she would be able to overcome what she had been going through.

Seriously, that’s what I’m scared to death about. Having heart attacks, becoming diabetic, etc. I have four kids, 6 and under, that I need to be around for, and watch grow up. They need their mother and I absolutely refuse to let any of that happen to me! Just hearing her story really opened up my eyes, and gave me another push in the right direction. And also made me realize how much I need the support of this group and the support I get from my readers.

I just want to personally thank everyone that comes here, and gives me those wonderful words of encouragement. It’s really appreciated and needed, so please, keep ‘em coming!

Want Some Inspiration?

Wow…one of the things I love about starting this blog, is all of the people that I’ve met through this experience. And the other blogs that I’ve come across, of people that are going through or have gone through the same struggles that I am currently dealing with. Today I found a very cool blog, Fantastically Fit by 40! What’s even cooler is, she has the same name as me! LOL

As I was browsing through her blog, I found her transformation video, and as I watched this, I was in awe! It actually brought me to tears. Just the messages and the song playing in the background is enough to inspire you! But seeing the pictures of her transformation just gives me that extra push that I’ve been needing to start exercising. I know that if I REALLY want to be that “Hot Mommy” that I’m just dying to become, dieting isn’t enough, I’ve got to start an exercise routine. Ruthie, from Fantastically Fit by 40, is using the Body For Life program, and after seeing her video, it may just be something I’m willing to try.

Anyway, here’s her video, you’ve got to check it out!
