Phew!!! We Have A Loss Folks!

OMG!  I weighed this morning and I had lost 2.4 lbs!  What’s funny is the only thing I did different yesterday was drink 2 huge glasses of water.  Definitely something to say about drinking plenty of water, it really does help you lose weight.  So hopefully that will be my motivation today to really get myself back on track.

Much thanks go out to all of my little “cheerleaders” that commented on my last update post.  It’s so nice to have you guys’ support.

Thanks for stopping by Making Mommy Hot! Have a great day!

Diet To Go! – Have you heard of it??

Now this is something that I might try. I met a new friend online, who originally contacted me about doing a blog design for her. She has lost over 130 lbs! And she has lots of tips and ideas that she would like to share with the blogging world. We will hopefully have her blog launched within the next couple of weeks.

Anyway, she emailed me today about how she just started Diet To Go. And she loves it! This is what she said:

“I think I told you I ordered from Diet To Go? Well I started it Tuesday and as of today I am down almost 5 lbs. The food is awesome and it’s just a total no brainer. I LOVE IT !!!”

So I decided to look into this. I absolutely have never heard of this program. Here’s a few FAQs from the Diet To Go website:

What is Diet-to-Go?

Diet-to-Go is a diet food service that provides freshly prepared, tasty, healthy, convenient and nutritionally balanced meal plans. Diet-to-Go has been serving its Customers for the past 15 years.

What do the meals consist of?

We have four weeks of different diet food plans that offer excellent variety. All of the meals are low in fat, low in sodium and low in cholesterol. Our healthy food is prepared by our chef, and adheres to the dietary guidelines of the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association and the American Dietetic Association.

How can Diet-to-Go work for me?

First, we need to know whether you are trying to lose weight, eat healthier, save time or achieve some other objective. Second, we need to know if there are any dietary restrictions such as allergies or taste preferences. Based on that and any other pertinent information, one of our meal counselors will recommend an appropriate and healthy food plan for you.

Will I lose weight by eating your healthy diet food plan?

Our low-fat diet food plan has helped thousands of busy new mothers, executives, home-bound individuals and many others shed unwanted pounds. On the average, our customers lose from 2 to 3 pounds per week while on our full meal plan.

What’s really cool about this program is, they have 3 locations where you can actually have your food home delivered. Each location has several distributors in their area. The locations are: Baltimore/D.C. area, Philadelphia, and San Francisco. You can also order your food online and have it shipped to you, which is what I will have to do, considering I’m a Mississippi gal. Not sure where my online friend lives, I’ll have to ask her. But this is definitely something I’m going to look into. If you are interested in trying Diet To Go, just click the banner below, and right now they are offering $20 off your first order, just use coupon code PJ2000 at checkout. The promotion ends June 30, 2008.

Weekly Recap – Once Again, another 1.6 lbs lost!

I’m actually in shock…and I’ll tell you why. I’ve been really down this week plus I think I’m coming down with something, and so I’ve been feeling sorry for myself. So to make a long story short…I have totally gone off my diet! That is why I was so surprised that I showed a loss at Weight Watchers tonight. I keep telling myself that it will eventually catch up with me, but then I told myself, “NO! I just need to work extra hard this week and really stick to it, and hopefully I’ll break even next week.”

This weigh in today just boosted my mood and my self confidence! I can do this! I just need to tell myself, “No more Pizza, no more Chips Ahoy Chocolate Chip cookies and absolutely no more Chinese food!!” I don’t know what’s been wrong with me, but I’ve just been craving everything I love here lately, and the Chinese Restaurant down the road has just been “calling me”. I finally broke down, and ordered the other night, and I made myself sick. To be honest, I really didn’t eat a whole lot, I mean I didn’t binge or anything, I guess my stomach is just not used to eating that stuff anymore and has shrunk or something.

But back to my self-confidence. That’s why I really love Weight Watchers, the meetings and the support. It really helps to be able go and be around other people that are going through the same thing I am. They are experiencing the same ups and downs. Losing weight is REALLY hard! Believe me, I know, because I’ve been struggling with it all my life. I’ve just got to keep on truckin’, because I have come too far to stop now!

The Flat Belly Diet

Here’s something to try if some of the other weight loss programs aren’t working for you and you have unwanted belly fat that you want to get rid of.

Prevention magazine’s editors have just recently launched their new weight loss program called the Flat Belly Diet. Here’s a quick excerpt from the site:

“This breakthrough diet from the editors of Prevention magazine was made for health-conscious women who have tried virtually everything to eliminate harmful belly fat – it offers a proven, science-based solution combining a cutting-edge nutrition plan with expert motivational tips and advice.”

They also have this cool tool called The Virtual Belly Flattener, where you can send in a picture of yourself, and they will send you back a picture of what you would look like with your belly flattened. Sounds cool doesn’t it? So go check it out!

Back From Weight Watchers

The meeting went great last night.  I was really surprised to see so many people there!  They had it at one of the meeting rooms at our local hospital and that room was packed!  I’m so excited to get started.  And so far, am doing really great on it.  I was also surprised to see that the person holding the meeting was a man.  He had lost over 100lbs on Weight Watchers.  Very down to earth dude.

His topic of discussion was the upcoming Super Bowl, and how people usually have get-togethers revolving around this annual event that most of the time involves food.  He was making analogies between football and sticking to your diet.  It was pretty cool and very interesting.  He also went through his daily food intake, and I couldn’t believe how much food he ate in one day.  It was funny because I embarrassed myself and made everyone laugh when I blurted out, “Man, that’s a lot of freakin’ food!”  He explained he was able to do that, just by making the right food choices.  I’m just praying that I will be able to get to that point.

I decided to go ahead and purchase a 9 week package.  I just felt that it would give me more incentive to go and stick to it.  And I also picked up the Weight Watchers Deluxe Member Kit which included the following:

  • Complete Food Companion -  a great resource for finding POINTS values of over 18,000 foods.
  • Dining Out Companion – another great resource for finding POINTS values from over 133 restaurants.
  • Three Month Journal – helps you with tracking your daily food consumption.
  • Meal Survival Guide – 50 quick and easy meal ideas to make getting started easy.
  • Coupon Booklet – Savings off the most popular Weight Watchers products.
  • Shot In the Arm – Inspirational Stories from Weight Watchers experts to help you stay on track.
  • Start Getting Healthy DVD – Packed with useful cooking and activity tips to help you stay on Program and start getting healthy.
  • Organizer – to store all your Weight Watchers materials in one convenient place.

So I’m pumped!!  The only thing that kind of bothered me is, I was up 2 more lbs than I thought.  So I guess that means my scale at home is weighing me a bit less than the one they are using.  But that’s ok, I’m going to go by both of them.
