Wow…I can’t believe it’s been over a month since I’ve posted. I promise that I will never go this long again, without posting something to let you guys know what’s going on in my crazy world. So far no more gain to report, so that’s a relief, but still haven’t lost either.
As you all may know, January of this year, I set out on a mission to lose 150 lbs, and I fell very short of that goal. It has almost been a year since I began this journey, and I’ve only lost a total of 26 lbs. I know, that’s better than nothing, but it was over 35 lbs and I’ve gained some back. So that’s no fun. But still within this year, I can say I’ve lost 26 lbs, so that’s very encouraging, and to be honest, I’m pretty proud of myself. So in a way, I still feel like a winner.
I’m hoping after the holidays, I can get back on my journey and work towards completing my original goal of losing 150 lbs. I just may start with a smaller goal of 50lbs, meet it, then move forward. Part of me is wondering if I should just bite the bullet, and start now, forget about the temptation of the holidays, because I would hate to gain more, and come January be back to square one. That would be devastating. All I know is, I’ve been completely out of control, and I have got to do something. I’m not talking diet pills or anything, I just need to figure out how I’m going to kick start this new mission.
Any suggestions??

Found you on the scalejunkie site. Love the name of your blog. As far as goals since January - me too! I was married on January 1 and wanted to get fit and healthy and NOT be a fat wife. Well, I’ve gained and lost all year and am back to starting weight. It’s discouraging, but I’m trying to get back on plan. I love the support system that HYC has. I’m a late arrival for 2008, but will make it happen in 2009.

Hey Ruthie! You will feel so much better if you get started now and not wait until after the holidays…this time of year is very challenging for us all, take each day as a new day to get closer to your goal and forget about the end result, it will just happen for you!

Hey Ruthie! Its Tracy at Sweet Potato Pie! Are you still doing Weight Watchers? I joined back in September, and so far I’ve lost 26 pounds! The meetings are what do it for me, plus it is a plan that you can live with - I am planning my Thanksgiving meal plus dessert now!
Whatever you choose to do, don’t forget about exercise and for gods sake dont give up! You can do it! I have about 85-100 to lose myself, so I know what you are going thru!
Good luck to you in reaching your goals!

You’re right; you’ve lost 26lbs so far, and you’re on your way to losing more. It takes time to make lifestyle changes.
Keep going. The best is yet to come………:)

I haven’t read through your whole site so I don’t know if you are already doing this or not but my suggestion is to join a gym and get a trainer! This is the best way to lose weight in my opinion even if you only meet with them once or twice a month. It is having someone hold you accountable, teach you what workouts you should be doing, helping you with your diet when you hit a wall, and encourage you along the way.
I know it is expensive but it is worth it! This is your health!
Good luck. If you need any encouragement through the holidays just e-mail me and we can encourage each other! I know I am struggling with not overdoing it as well.
