My Lowest of Lows

Just wanted to give everyone a quick update on things so far.  We haven’t moved yet, but more on that later.  I’m in major crisis here with my weight.  I broke down and weighed the other day, and was shocked to see that I had gained 10 pounds.  Can you believe that???  TEN POUNDS!!  So definitely a major setback.  I’m PMSing this week big time, so I’m praying that’s part of it.  But I guess I needed this wake up call, because I think I’ve FINALLY made up my mind that I’ve got to do this.  This morning, as I write this, I haven’t had anything to eat yet, and I’m sitting here telling myself, “Today is the day, you’ve got to do this!”  So the motivation is there, I’m just praying it last throughout the day.  I will say that I feel different today.  I’m not craving any particular food, although I am hungry.  Usually, if I’m starving, I’m just dying to get my hands on something really good and fattening, something I love.  But today, I’m not doing that.  So hopefully, that’s a good sign, and I make the right decisions today.  Wish me luck!

Good luck! Everything will be just fine. Hang in there. Ten pounds might seem like a lot, but really it isn’t. You are going to be just fine.

Hang in there! Lyn and PastaQueen have had similar recent experiences and are pulling through it. You aren’t alone!

You know what we ALL have setbacks. The important thing is to not give up and be able to think ahead. There have been months where I weighed more at the end of the month than at the beginning…but you know what I ultimately was able to lose 45 lbs (and counting). It’s been over a year but that’s still a success.

Just don’t give up!!!!

So glad I found your blog! I’m trying to lose weight too. I literally just went back to the gym for the first time in years today!
Good luck w/ your weight loss journey!
Also, I am so glad to find a fellow MS blogger. Stop by and see mine sometime!

Hey Ruthie! Sorry to hear you’re going through a low period. I can definitely relate. Keep your head up and know that as long as you don’t give up, you will succeed with your weight loss goals.

Thanks you guys for all your support!

I am really sorry to hear about your gain. Sometimes it takes something drastic to get us back on track. You just need to make sure to use this as a positive, spin it to help you to do better. You’ll get there Ruthie! Just move, count, and keep positive :)

Hi Ruthie !!! You Know I KNOW from experience that you CAN DO THIS !!! I know sometime’s it seems overwhelming and there will be days like that off and on but when you really reach deep inside and decide today is the day, once you see all the progress, it just will lead to more !! You can do this :) Did you try the food I sent you ???? Just do it :) I am down almost 20 lbs now :) You can do this :) I’m one of your greatest fans ;)

awww….Ruthie!!!! I got behind on blog reading due to the whole family getting the tummy flu last week so I missed this! It’s no wonder with all the stress in your life……..hurricanes, new jobs, moving etc……that you could derail. You just need to pick yourself up, dust yourself up, forget about the past and take today as day 1 on your journey. Take the time to take care of YOU! The rest just falls into place ;) I promise not to go this long again without visiting you!

First, just calm down, everything will be okay! The trick is to take it one day at a time and PLAN!

My highest weight was 209, and in one year I got down to 137. I was able to maintain that weight (up to 142) for 6 years, until I became insulin dependent.

All of a sudden, I could eat two pieces of pizza instead of half of one piece – just give myself more insulin to make up the balance!

Well guess what, in one year I gained 30 pounds! So I got a grip, and the day after labor day of this year started my blog in order to hold myself accountable.

And you know what? It’s working! As of October 1 (I decided not to weigh myself more than once a month – too many fluctuations day to day)
I weighed 163, I’d lost 7 pounds!

And I know I am continuing to do well because I can now fit into my size 12 pants – sweet!

So hang in there, I know its hard, but when you put your mind to it, you can do it!

This my first time here. Don’t worry about 10 lbs. Pounds come and go. It’s when you worry that more come. Just continue to do what you believe works and it will work out.

Hey Ruthie – I tagged you, but don’t feel obligated!

Happy Monday!

Hey Ruthie – PMS CAN give you ten pounds especially if it is at the height of your ‘cycle’. Remember that weight loss is NEVER constant (unless you decide to starve yourself and workout for 6 hours a day like the guys on biggest loser in which case you are putting your body at risk of all sorts of other health problems). Measure yourself at the same time each month so you have a constant factor that you can predict for. Make sure you stay positive – focus on what you want and never forget the people reading this blog that are inspired by your constant efforts!!!

Hey Ruthie! You have been gone for over a month! I hope things are going better, remember you can finish anything you start :)
